Short title: Autism and Fecal Microbiota Transplantation

The authors would like to make following corrections to the published article: “Improvements in gut Microbiome composition and clinical symptoms following familial fecal microbiota transplantation in a nineteen-year-old adolescent with severe autism”, Journal of Medical Cases, 2024;15(4-5):82-91, doi: 10.14740/jmc4209 [1].

In the paragraph under “Improvements in behavioral and gastrointestinal symptoms” in Follow-up and outcomes section, the sentence “The Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) of speech increased from 7 to 16.3, and ATEC of sensory awareness increased from 9 to 24 (Fig. 5)” should be changed to “The Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) of speech decreased from month 1 (11 to 7) until month 8 post-FMT. After month 8 post-FMT, the ATEC of speech score started to increase (Fig. 5). The ATEC of sensory awareness also showed an improvement in the first 4 months post-FMT, it decreased from month 1 (15 to 14) until month 4 (Fig. 5).”

The legend of Figure 5 should be changed from “Improvements of ATEC scores post FMT. ATEC: Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist; FMT: fecal microbiota transplant” to “Short-lived improvements of ATEC scores post-FMT. ATEC: Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist; FMT: fecal microbiota transplant”.
